Can I use CareWay if my patient has refused consent or only in dictation mode?

Yes, it is possible to use CareWay for free-text dictation without obtaining patient consent.

You can use CareWay in dictation mode in the following situations:

  • The patient refuses consent for recording the consultation. In this case, you can simply dictate your note after the consultation, without the session being recorded.

  • Certain information needs to be added to the note after a consultation that was already recorded (with consent). For example, to add administrative details, clarify a treatment plan, or add observations that were not discussed with the patient.

Using the Note Precision Feature

The Statement for this Consultation section allows you to add free-text or dictate additional elements to include in the final note, even if these were not discussed with the patient.

  1. Type your text directly into the provided field, or click the microphone icon at the bottom left to dictate your additions.

  2. Click Generate Note to create a note using your default settings, or Note Settings to adjust options before generating the note.

NotePrecision

If the consultation was recorded with the patient and you have added elements in the Statement for this Consultation section, CareWay will automatically combine all information (recording and additional details) to generate the complete note.
