Step 1 - Creating a Consultation
1. Click on New Consultation in the center of the page, or in the left margin.
Step 2 - Configuring the Consultation Settings
1. Select the note transcription language: English, French.
a. The consultation can be done in another language. CareWay's AI will translate the consultation and transcribe it in the selected language.
b. Customize your default settings so that CareWay remembers your preferences.
2. Choose the microphone to use to capture the audio depending on your device configuration.
a. Make sure you select the device with the best quality.
Allow your browser to use your microphone each time you visit the CareWay site. Modify browser permissions as required.
3. Select the thinking mode for generating the note: Reflective or Fast.
Step 3 - Obtaining Patients' Consent and Starting the Recording
Patient consent is required to record the consultation.
1. Toggle the selector to indicate that you have obtained the patient consent.
2. Start recording by clicking on the microphone icon.
3. Use the sound wave to confirm that your microphone is working properly.
4. Proceed with the consultation with your patient as you would without CareWay.
a. Note that the consultation is transcribed in real time in the corresponding field.
Mention your diagnoses and treatment plans during your consultation, and CareWay will consolidate the information for you.
5. Stop recording at any time by clicking on pause and resume recording by clicking on the microphone icon.
6. Record or add your comments to the note in the bottom section once the patient has left.
a. Note that you can also record requests to have a subject removed from the note in this section.
Step 4 - Generating the note
Generate the note in one click using the Generate Note with your default configuration option, or use the Note Settings option.
1. Click on Generate Note at the bottom of the page.
Use the Note Settings option to modify the default configuration of the note to be generated.
2. Select Note Settings to modify any of the following:
a. The note language.
b. The note type.
i. Select a note template adapted to your specialty: DIR, SOAP, AAOR...
ii. Find your favorite personalized templates at the top of the list.
iii. Preview the structure of the selected note in the right-hand section.
3. Click on Generate Note.
The note will be generated within seconds.
Step 5 - Copying the Note into your EMR
1. Find the generated note on the right-hand side of the page.
2. Make any necessary changes in the text fields.
3. Click on Copy in the upper right corner of the page to copy the entire note.
a. Use the copy icon opposite each section to copy only the desired section.
4. Paste your CareWay note into your EMR.
