How can I create and give a summary handout to my patient in CareWay?

CareWay allows you to generate a patient handout to provide following a consultation. This handout can be used to summarize recommendations, follow-ups or actions to be completed after the visit.

The patient handout can be accessed from the menu of note types to generate.

Steps to follow:

  1. Access Note Settings
    1. Click on Note Settings if you only wish to generate a patient handout, or
      To do list 1
    2. Click on the + icon to add another note if you want to generate a handout after creating your consultation note.

  2. Select the note type
    1. Choose Patient Handout, then click Generate note.

  3. Provide the document to the patient
    1. Print the handout and give it directly to the patient, or
    2. Copy the note content and paste it into a message to send by email or through a patient portal.
